Find anything in your drive

You know the file is in there. There's now a search bar for your whole drive, with a full results page behind it. Type a name and your projects, files, and folders come up. You can also ask Underlord to find files, folders, projects, and layout packs for you.

How to find it

Click the search bar in your drive and type.
Press Enter to open the full results page.
Or ask Underlord: "find my interview project."

Get a recording without booking a call

Getting five minutes of footage from a busy person usually means finding a time that works for both of you. Now you can send a recording request instead. They record when it suits them, and the footage comes back to you. You can add instructions or a script for them to read before they start. Available on Enterprise drives.

How to find it

In a new project, click

Give it a title and pick when the link expires.
Choose who can record: members of your drive only, or anyone with the link.
Optional: add a script. Your guest reads it from the teleprompter while they record.
Click
Create link
and send it.
When their recording finishes processing, you’ll get an email and an in-app notification with a link to it.

AI voice clones sound more like the real thing

AI Speech now runs on ElevenLabs v4. Voice clones sound closer to the person they were cloned from. Pick v4 in your AI model settings. Some projects will switch to v4 on their own the next time you open them.

Fix a file that won't play right

Some files upload fine and then lag or stutter in your project. When Descript spots a problem with a file, it now marks it with a badge. Right-click the file and choose Fix file issue, and Descript repairs it for you.

Faster AI video on paid plans

Generate video now defaults to MiniMax H3 Max Turbo on paid plans. It's faster and follows your prompt more closely. Free plans stay on PixVerse V4.5.

A year of usage history

Settings → Usage used to show this billing cycle and the last one. Now there's a Custom range that goes back 12 months, for AI credits and media minutes.

Enterprise drives now default to Claude Opus 5.5.
The new center active speaker model is on for everyone now.
When Underlord makes a plan, it now describes the finished video in plain language. If you've already written a detailed plan, it just checks the decisions you haven't made yet instead of repeating your plan back.
The Search API now returns direct links to projects and files, with thumbnail previews. The Descript MCP returns the direct links too.

Fixed an issue where some publishes failed, or published but wouldn't play.
Fixed published links that kept showing an older version after you made edits.
Fixed YouTube publishes that could hang.
Fixed the "Cannot Export: Invalid Keyframe" error.
Fixed an issue where a missing font could block export.
When a local export can't find a piece of media, it says so instead of failing with no explanation.
AAF export keeps clip gain in Pro Tools, no longer hangs on markers with parentheses, and handles media names that differ only in capitalization.
Fixed the canvas freezing during playback, and playback failing in some compositions.
Fixed playback skipping sections of audio in some WAV files.
Copy and paste now keeps your highlights.
You can edit text that has an In animation again.
Smart transitions no longer add extra movement after a custom animation, and you can remove them again.
You can remove the wordless media label from your script again.
Fixed Avoid Harsh Cuts failing when you remove filler words.
Fixed lip sync failing on some videos.
When a project won't load or is slow to load, the message tells you what's going on.
Fixed an error that could stop a screen recording from saving.
Fixed some stock AI voices failing to generate.
Fixed mobile cancellations that looked complete but didn't take effect.
When a member asks to upgrade, you now see what it costs before you approve.
