Ability to add markers during screen recording

When doing a screen recording and transcription is turned on, I want to add markers (by pressing a key, button on screen, or saying a “magic word”?), so that I can minimise the time it takes to structure the transcript and enable users to find signposted content.

In addition to other comments, I would like if the market can serve as an aid to underlord for multi-cam automation. The markers can also indicate the beginning of promo clips.

Sometimes my guest says something I want to remember to highlight. I would like to add a marker by pressing a key on my keyboard during the recording and the marker appears on the clip when I'm editing in Descript.

I asked a similar question to support so I'm adding this as feature request. This video shows how the youtuber live type the marker and have the markers shown in the screenrecording itself which is a fantastic way to show the markers visually to viewers as well.

This is a great idea. Would love it too cos I can just come back to the transcription and edit the name of the marker.
