Additional ID3 tags in exported audio

I always have to open the exported MP3 in a separate app to add a few more ID3 tags. Specifically, I add Artist, Date, Track Number, and Genre.

Katrina Lui: Thank you for adding this feature! I have a question; what is the intended flow for timestamps beginning at 0:00.000? I seem to only be seeing my second marker showing up as the first chapter!
Sam Sethi
Yes and make the meta data fields podcast index 2.0 compliant so that when I export to buzzsprout they fill in the fields correctly.

Hi folks,
So what we're planning on doing here is adding some metadata fields to the audio export window. The options will be:
* Podcast Title
* Episode Title
* Description
* Artwork image
* Optionally include markers in the project as chapters
Does that cover it?

Andrew Mason: That would do it!! 🙏🏼

Andrew Mason: yes! This would be so great!

Andrew Mason: This is great news!
I've been using Forecast for this and have to do a workaround exporting the markers from the Descript-exported Audition session, importing them back on the WAV file, and dragging that WAV file into Forecast. Having the markers exported as chapters would be awesome!
Another nice thing Forecast provides after encoding as MP3 are copy-pasteable duration (e.g., 00:18:30) and file length (e.g., 18226393) which podcast providers require, the duration is commonly provided in the <itunes:duration> RSS field and the file length in the "length" attribute of the audio <enclosure> tag. (This can be seen in the top-right of the attached screenshot.)
As always: Thanks from a happy customer! ❤️

Andrew Mason: I use this site every time I hit the publish button. https://castfeedvalidator.com/ I’d say if you have the ID3 tags they look for you should be good. I’ve only seen Copyright date and link to that as an additional common field.

Andrew Mason: That would cover the fcuk out of it!

Yes please! And make them so when publishing to a podcast host, like Podiant, it is available for them to see and edit the chapter markers. Please.

I would really like to have chapters and ID3 tagging in Descript. I'm currently using the appropriately named "Podcast Chapters" on Mac and this would take a time devouring step out of my workflow. TY :)

I just wanted to add that I'm using markers to mark key points in the audio (since comments don't copy between compositions) and I really don't want the markers to turn into "chapter markers" for listeners.
If chapters get added, please make it a separate item rather than making the existing markers "chapter markers".
Jacob Harmon
You can use the markers as chapters! This would be so nice!

Yes please, God almighty yes. Since this started as a Podcast tool, I really expected to see this feature already here. This is one of the biggest time sucks of Podcast production. How nice it would be to just have your audio file 100% ready for posting to Podbean Or Lybsyn.
