The ability to use our own Audio Plugins, like those from Waves or iZotope to master the audio within the Composition would be great.

Descript would be my all-in-one solution for all content if I could use third party audio plugins from Waves, Fab Filter, iZotope, etc. on the individual speaker tracks as well as on a Master track.

Plugins -- like Audacity -- for specific functions. Mostly I would like an equivalent to Levelator or VoiceLevel, for evening out speakers whose volume level varies wildly. But plugins are a huge part of Audacity's power and I think Descript could have way better audio processing if the user community could contribute audio processing plugins, or even if (while I'm dreaming) it could use Audacity plugins!

open source and has more and more manufacturers supporting. Could be a relatively easy way to allow for plug-ins.

I'd love to be able to only use Descript instead of switching between audition and Descript whenever i need to fine tune things. This is especially noticeable when I'm editing video, because the replace file option won't work - if I bring the audio into Audition it automatically creates a new file, separated from the video. That would mean exporting from audition, then adding the audio file back to the video, then re-exporting, then replacing the video file in descript. Noooot exactly an efficient workflow, especially when my team and I are editing 4+ episodes a day and need to maximize our capacity. Please add this option! thank you!

While its nice that Descript allows you to record audio, it currently does not support VST plugins, so I still prefer to use OBS or Adobe Audition to record. Descript would benefit from VST support

Studio sound is good, but sometimes I want a specific VST plugin to process my voice. I have to export the audio then process it in a different software then add it back to script. And sometimes this process breaks audio and video sync. It's a simple feature that would make a huge impact on my experience.
