Change location of offline files

It would be great to specify the location where offline files are stored, so that they could perhaps live on a external USB drive with other project files and would not take up limited start-up disk space. Thanks!

I am also having trouble with this. Can't seem to install on my main HD and now it is bogging down my OS SSD drive! Very dissapointed with the performance and lack of storage options. Is there a way to only upload the optimized versions for collaborative editing while the originals live on my drive for rendering?

This app is currently taking up 250+ GB of storage, with no way to specify where to store it. That's... interesting for a "cloud" application.

VERY surprised that this isn't addressed yet. Unsupported work-around hints in the support section make it sound like this is a "special feature" that is uncommon. Please reconsider allowing us to redirect the storage locations for ALL of Descript files.

It is disappointing that such a standard, mainstream feature of other professional apps is missing from Descript. I'm running out of things to delete from my computer to make room for Descript files, yet I've got a 1TB SSD plugged into my laptop that is utterly useless for hosting Project files. Mind-blowing.

So this request has been in place since 2019, and it's still an issue? This is not OK. Due to this and some other serious issues I've been experiencing, I'm sad to say I need to consider reworking my project strategy to avoid Descript altogether.

Are there really no plans in motion to let us install this to whatever drive we want? It's beyond crazy that a workflow-focused app in 2021 forces the install to the OS drive. I tried the complicated workaround posted in this thread and it didn't work. Super frustrating.
