This issue is not resolved until Classic supports dark mode as well.
Kevin McCarthy
Please re-open this issue. Dark mode is still needed in "Classic".
De Clarke
Kevin McCarthy: but as a choice please, not forced. I find dark mode harder on my eyes than Classic -- one of the several reason why I am still using Classic and will cry a whole lot if I am finally forced to move to the "New World" -- the new mode is harder for me to use in every way -- controls are clunkier for audio-only editing, plus eye strain -- and I wish Classic would stick around forever.
Kevin McCarthy
De Clarke: Absolutely. Dark mode should be a choice. (themes anyone? Anyone?) That's what accessibility is all about-being able to make the choices that benifit each person's needs.
I have to agree with you. Storyboard is a complete disaster as an audio editor. I am team classic all the way.
De Clarke
Kevin McCarthy: Thank goodness someone else agrees with me, because the dev team seems so oblivious to how they have wrecked Descript as an audio editor (which is all I use it for and why I bought it... and Classic mode is a freakin' Miracle Tool that has changed my life.) . My whole radio production team is using it and we are just gonna be crippled if they remove Classic from the product, because as you say, Storyboard is pure hell to use for audio editing. Maybe it's better if you're doing video, I wouldn't know, but it sucks for audio and seriously, it's going to affect our productivity and morale in really bad ways if we are forced to use it. I'm the one who picked this software and convinced everyone to get on board with it so my reputation is on the line here!

Pranav Vishnu: This issue was not resolved. It was added to Storyboard. Classic sitll has the same issue.

Pranav Vishnu: I agree with Kevin, the issue is not resolved for those of us working on audio only (in Classic mode). Considering the feature request was put in for Classic mode, this cannot honestly be considered resolved.
De Clarke
Garret Kruger: I'm slowly getting the impression that us audio-only editors are now 2nd class citizens. There are several aspects even of Classic that are kind of crude or time-wasting for audio editing (like no hotkeys for routine actions like volume adjust for a clip, no "select all clips by Speaker") -- requests have been made fairly often, yet devs are apparently not interested. And frankly the New Mode feels (to me) really clunky for audio-only editing compared to Classic (have to use a keychord just for Play and Stop? jeepers). I'm getting a bad feeling that Descript sees a bigger market in video editing and us audio people are now "along for the ride" but not considered important any more as far as feature requests, etc. Hope I'm wrong, as Descript has revolutionised my life in radio and podcast. I just hate it that the new version is actually a step downward in ease of use for audio editing. Seems like a bad sign. What do y'all think?

De Clarke: Sadly, I think you're right. Of the 17 feature requests that are "Under Review" all 17 of them are related to video editing.

have you already implemanted dark mode?

Dark Mode: Don’t Forget Pages
Kesen
Please consider in rolling out dark-mode support that adjustments are also made to the published page. This should literally take not much effort at all as app’s like Noir or Dark Reader can give you a bead start, with Noir looking absolutely beautiful on Descript pages when viewed on iOS.
I’m surprised ya’ll haven’t rolled this out yet since it’s the style is already basically sitting at your home page.
