Descript putting itself in boot startup (windows)

Hi all, I love Descript so far, but: at install, the Descript app will startup every time I boot my PC.
If I remove Descript from the apps booting at startup (see attachment) it will put itself back in there next time I start the app.
Very inconvenient.
I see no option in Preferences to disable this. Any solution?

This is not a closed issue! In fact, it's an old problem that comes back to haunt us again after new updates.
Yet any new post related to it gets put back here by Canny AI
So fed up with the slow time to acknowledge, address and fix simple bugs.

Read the solution for this, but people are still reporting it doesn't work. I believe every time Descript has a new version, this setting gets overridden. Also, it's hard to tell which toggle means enabled and which means disabled.

This was a problem in the past mitigated by turning off descript at load in settings > preferences. However, there are no settings to stop descript from starting up when booting windows.
Disabling it in windows task manager doesn't work...

Please either add an option for this, or do not force it by default. I disabled through Windows settings, and it came back with the next build installation. Pretty annoying guys.

GET ABILITY TO DISABLE AUTOSTART IN WINDOWS

Descript launches on computer login despite attempts to disable it. Even after following instructions to stop autostart, it resets settings and re-enables itself. This behavior is frustrating and virus-like.

Thanks for reporting. I've logged this issue with the appropriate team.

Yup, I agree. An app that runs on startup is very annoying indeed. On the verge of uninstalling it.

Another second. I keep getting notifications from MacOS that Descript has set itself to run on system restart. Please let ME make that decision!

It's pretty trashy to have autorun turned on by default for this. It's not difficult to remove it. I just used Autoruns myself to thoroughly check that there weren't any hidden updaters, But that's not the point. There's no reason to have this app open on startup. It just comes off as a sleazy advertising tactic. It really lowered my opinion of the brand.

Still a problem in the latest build. This app is too pushy with its affections!
