End looped audio

I would like to be able to end a loop at desired point in my audio. Currently I can add music in the middle, but looping will result in that file playing until the end. I have segments in my podcast where I play music and would like to end the loop at a given scene.

I've noticed something very basic that seems to have fallen through the cracks.
When you make an audio track "looping" you can start the loop at a specific time- but you can't stop it or fade it out to intorduce a new track- it just automatically loops to the end forcing me to copy and paste the original track over and over.
it would be nice to be able to start the loop and end it and it would save a lot of time.
