Export Settings - Output Low Quality Even on "High" Setting
Brian Crawford
Yes, this is unacceptable. When recording our livestream, our 1080p recordings are compressed to 1.7 Mbps AVC. The bitrate should be at least 5x that, with h265 as a better codec to get better compression performance. Our final renders are splotchy and compressed even at the "High" setting since the original source files are so compressed! This is partly why we moved from using Zoom - and yet Descript is overly compressed too.

Exporting file issue.

The videos I am downloading have very low file sizes, the quality is bad, and there is glitching of the video. I've done this many times before and the export settings are correct. Please help.

Having the same problem. The video is highly compressed making it super blurry and the colors are completely different. It looks like there is a weird filter on it and its completely unusable.

So apparently descript must have made some updates and claims to have fixed the quality of the exports??? I've changed ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and now all of my videos are exporting super unsaturated... The tech support seems to be no help has anyone else had this problem and figured out a solution?

Footage increases in exposure on exporting
Maria
I have used descript today to make some very small changes to the audio in video footage and trim the length of the video. No other edits were made to the how the footage looks. However, upon exporting, the footage has increased in brightness / exposure, making it look too bright.
Is this a bug or is there a way to turn off this automatic lightening of the footage. Unfortunately, this automatic change in how the footage looks has meant that I am unable to use the edited versions and have had to use other software to edit the clips. Very disappointed.
