Often Overdub just pauses too long in weird places in the sentence or puts the emphasis on the wrong word. There needs to be a better way to manage this. It is easy to add pauses with commas, but not shortening them. I realize the pauses can be edited by converting the Overdub to audio, but that is rather tedious (#5 on here: https://help.descript.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046925171-Overdub-Guide-to-Voice-Quality) but I've not found a good way to indicate a word receives emphasis.

The meaning of sentences change depending on where the emphasis is. Let us highlight (make bold) the word where emphais is. I know it can be done playing with punctuation + styles, but it would be much better if it could be made by highlighting the word. (Perhaps also needed to do it in the training).

In order to make the stock Overdub voices sound more realistic, it would be useful to allow users to emphasize single words.

They are ahead of you in that their voices can have the emphasis adjusted on certain words. E.g. "And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why you don't touch an electric fence!" Their product allows you to put emphasis on the word "that" so it sounds more realistic.

The feature of emphasis control has been requested many times for over a year and is the reason why our team is hesitant to commit to Descript. Please provide update on whether there is any plan to beta test this in the next couple months. Thank you

If script sad > narrate slower.

If script action-packed > narrate faster etc.

Because I narrate with my custom Descript Voice, it becomes difficult to distinguish (audibly) between speakers in dialog and other parts of the script.

Even allowing for macro feature where one can insert longer pauses after full-stops and quotations, "...", would make it easier to create understandable narrations.

Don't take the following the wrong way, I like Descript and it appears to be legit company with a real address. Other companies seem to be a group of people all over cobbling together back end code and some poor UI and using Stripe to capture money they will never refund.

Ok, with that disclaimer aside; I would like see Descript have voices like the ones at play.ht. Their voices are great, and reading pacing too, but the company is NOT great (warning). I'm not sure how or where they get those voices, their website says Polly, Wavenet, Watson, and Azure ... but they don't sound like any of those.

If only Descript had those voices my search for A.I. generated voice over would be at an end.

Okay - so Descript has become my GO TO for fixing audio - literally has saved TONS of time and saved completely unusable audio. So happy. I'm also loving using the overdub voices. What would be great (asking too much?) is if I could read with expression and then have Descript change my voice into one of the other overdub voices using MY expression and timing. (My voice isn't exactly what you call "radio friendly")

The speed the overdub voices moves from one sentence to the next is unnatural and sometimes there should be shorter or longer pauses. We really need a control to set the default time between sentences and then an ability to click on an area and adjust the time after a full stop etc as required for individual sentences or paragraphs. Having to Convert the Overdub voices to audio and then slice the audio up into sections and add gap clips is extremely inefficient and a massive waste of time that becomes increasingly difficult the longer the document as and it really puts strain on Descript as you do it which makes descript become very laggy to hard to work with. Also often I really do not want to convert the overdub to audio because If I am creating a script I need to change the charactor voice so once converted to audo I have to retype the text again which again is extremely inefficient. Descript would be so much easier to work with if it simply had some control preferences for sentence timings. Please add some timing preferences with default and adjustable time controls for after commas and periods question marks and exclamation points. thankyou :)

words like "wow and yahoo," need more expression. The AI read it too fast. Also, what if we want the AI to expend the word like yahoo to yahooooooo. The AI read it as yahoo then fellow by reading the extra "o" as an alphabet.

They have very realistic voices. Would be great to add them as a provider.
