Fuller Premiere integration

I have been using descript for client testimonial videos now for a few projects, and it’s awesome at about 20% of the workflow-but because it doesn’t support my cameras (Blackmagic) or many of the advanced features, my workflow is a huge mess. I export my interviews to QuickTime in resolve as mp4, then upload them to descript, where a team member builds a project. And while in theory I can export an XML back to premiere of FCP - that is just a whole mess.
If descript had a premiere pro panel integration instead of a dumb XML, it could be much smarter. Potentially even allowing updates from descript into a premiere timeline on a rolling basis, and reflecting edits made in premiere to descript.
This would save you the trouble of chasing endless camera codec support (to be clear I am also using 2 cameras and externally recorded audio timecode synced in this project.- really pro-level workflow that I don’t expect descript to support this decade. This is a workaround-get Permiere Pro’s best features and the best of Descript.
Ps FCP also uses panels and I think the API is similar.
Just a note-when Netflix started doing original programming HBO hustled to create it’s own streaming service. When asked why they were changing business models HBO’s chief said “we have to become them before they become us.”
All the “pro” platforms are adding (free!) transcription support. Building the interface to support editing the timeline like descript is coming. You have maybe a year.

Fix Premiere Timeline Exports
Jeremy Andrew Davis
Any time an XML file is exported for Premiere, when linking to the original files, the video is out of sync with the edit.
The only way that timeline exports are working is if new reference files are created out of Descript - however these new reference files look identical in size and timecode as the originals.
This needs fixed. Having to re-export the clips to have them work in premiere takes up double the space on hard drives.
