Global Media Library
Leah Jackson
I have recurring audio and images that I include for every podcast episode I produce. It takes so much time to have to add this content to each new project.
I've created templates so I don't have to recreate these elements BUT would be great to be able to pull from a global user or drive media library instead. Be able to add the multitrack elements as hot buttons where you can drag and drop these elements into a project easily.

no possinility to copy a folder from one project to another? guys, how many votes do you need to implement that?

Just checking in - is this idea of a Global Media library across all projects and compositions on the roadmap yet at all?

It looks like people have asked for a library to store assets like music logos, etc., needed for podcast episodes. The requests date back to 2021, so WHERE IS IT? Does anyone actually use your product in-house? If they did, you would understand how aggravating it is to have to import items for every project.

Would absolutely love a centralized 'dump' area we can place regularly used assets such as music, sfx, and other bits that can be used across multiple projects and compositions. This would save time having to upload them each time or copying them across windows etc.

Just saw this after I posted the same request!

+1 to this. Some context for UX team.
- I'd love the ability for folders and tags. Tags so I can do queries like "logo" across folders.
- One type of asset for a "thing" (like a person or company). Almost like a CRM of assets. When I talk about "Person B", I want to see my 3-5 assets: 2x headshots, a b-roll clip of them, their website homepage as a b-roll clip
- For any asset, it's either going to be a video clip that I expect to be full-screen. That's easier today. What I'd love is the option to additionally save the size / position details of an image. So many images I use, I resize to specific height, add corner rounding... I'd love to be able to just drag and drop those.
- Big big UX thing: allow me to drag and drop the asset to a specific point in the canvas. It's really annoying that you can't do that for any asset now from right panels (they always add to beginning of the scene).

Descript is awesome! How is it possible that I have to upload things like a logo or a standard tune everytime to descript? I still believe there must be something I overlook

How is this not already a thing! Please make a library for often used files.

Storage Clipboard for commonly-used assets

Storage "clipboard" or a storage project where I keep all the assets that I re-use for different podcast episodes such as music, into/outro, title slides, credit slides. etc.
I would love to grab these directly from Descript rather than uploading from my computer files each time.
