I would really appreciate a quick key to quickly pause while recoding my screen. It would save so much hassle and cutting on the back end.

With the new Recorder in Descript Web, you can pause and resume recordings! The pause control appears to the left of the Record button while recording.

I don't even know where to pause at all...Would also be great in the beginning, rather than just have the countdown. But yeah, hotkey would be great!
