Improve the waveform editing - add a dedicated waveform UI like Hindenberg Pro

DAWs are great for all the VST and final mixing. But right now, Hindenburg offers the fastest and most intuitive composition experience. There's a point in the workflow where you need to switch to waveform editing and make fast cuts, move whole chunks of audio around - do all the blocking and composition stuff. Right now I do that in either Hindenberg or Da Vinci Resolve's DAW product.
Da Vinci Resolve breaks their product into sections for editing video, FX, and audio. Because they understand that you can't fit all the tools in one space.. you need a different workflow for a different job.
Descript has proven that text editing a transcript is a true innovation for audio editing. But what about the next part of the workflow - in my opinion we're moving to a DAW earlier than necessary. I want to do the final mix with plugins etc. But I want to finish the overall composition of a podcast in Descript.
Without a better, uncompromised waveform editing experience. That isn't possible!

Agreed. I’m not aware of Hindenburg but Descript sorely needs to allow for external waveform editors. I do my editing in Audacity, and I currently have to highlight the text, export the waveform, open it in Audacity for editing, and then export it from Audacity and import it back into Descript. Or I can save the waveform editing for later, but then I have to remember what I needed to do.
Think of how much easier and faster it would be if we could just open the waveform in an external editor directly from Descript (the way Reaper does it).
I'm frankly surprised there hasn't been a greater demand for this. Descript's text editor is outstanding but there's only so far you can go with it.
