J/L Cuts on the script
under consideration

How is this still not implemented? It's been under consideration for 2 years!? I've tried time and time again to keep using Descript.
You have a "creator" plan yet no basic editing cuts a creator would need. Literally any video editor can do this.. (And many of them now have great text based editing so this needs addressing)
Currently I'm using descript to curate the content (like a word doc) and then doing some basic edits and then exporting as an xml. I then do the rest of the work elsewhere. The problem is that Then I have to export it in my other editor and then reimport it to descript to do captions etc
This workflow leads to so many different video files and is so convoluted.
With other editors now implementing text-based editing, I'm really considering canceling my descript subscription, because it now usus more time than it saves.
I want to love Descript but with constant crashing and long load times when I do things like audio level adjustments etc It's just become a pain.
Talking head videos do not look natural or smooth with simple cuts. You need J cuts.
Putting so much time and energy toward AI driven features is a total waste if you haven't even included the editing basics first.

This is something I've struggled with coming from other editors. I value the script editing but any kind of complex edit requires bending over backwards through the sequence editor and hoping for the best.

I definitely need this too, hoping it is praying it's promoted from the "under consideration" status :P

I also need this. I haven't been able to get this to work and want my videos to be more dynamic.

I think an awesome and easy way to do this would be how we make cuts in the script now:
/ - normal cut
/J/ - J cut
/L/ - L cut

I absolutely need to be able to do these kind of cuts as well. Is it happening?

This is kind of a big deal, today I wanted to do a J cut but couldn't figure out a way to do it with Storyboard.
