Keeping timeline indicator from moving when trimming a clip trimming a clip
Ian Mackenzie
Clip trimming similar to premiere Pro and Screenflow where you can leave the timeline indicator where it is and then trim the end of the clip to the timeline. At the moment as soon as you click the end of the clip, it moves the timeline indicator. This would make trimming clips a lot easier and faster.

CTI Behavior Needs Improvement for Accurate Editing

As someone who regularly used Premiere and other traditional video editors, I relied heavily on the CTI (Current Time Indicator) to make precise edits. In most editors, I can scrub to a specific point in the timeline, leave the CTI there, and then move or trim clips to that exact position.
Descript doesn’t behave this way — once I start moving or trimming a clip, the CTI disappears. This makes accurate editing difficult, as there’s nothing to snap to — just guesswork.
Please consider keeping the CTI visible and stable during clip edits. It would make a huge difference for editors transitioning to Descript and improve overall editing precision.
