Multicam Support

I'm content with my clunky workaround for dealing with multicam content, but the new Sequences give me hope that one day it can be handled in-App. I'd love to upload two (or more) angles, sync them in a Sequence, pick the track(s) to transcribe, and then make a Composition. Then when I export the composition, see the cuts applied to all the cameras. (I can still do camera-switching in Premiere later).

We shipped multicam support inside of Descript today: https://help.descript.com/hc/en-us/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=multicam

Andrew Mason: We urgently need to improve this feature so that you can do it from a text selection directly, having to cut the timeline goes against the ethos of descript, it should be like editing text not using adobe audition. So well done guys, great start but can we get this one over the line on the UX!

Tim Scarfe: big agree w this point

If there was a way that the different video angle clips uploaded could be assigned to speakers and edited as a normal Descript, where the video seen switches depending on the speaker playing would be a huge game changer!

I'm a producer for branded content and documentary projects both of which are heavily reliant on paper edits and multi-cam. Being able to round trip to Premiere would be an a game changer and every producer and editor I know would incorporate it into their work flow immediately.

We're releasing basic multicam support inside of Descript next week, but it won't yet export as a multicam asset to Premiere or FCPX.

Andrew Mason: Hi Andrew - that's great for simple projects - thanks! But due to various reasons I would still need to take a project chopped up in Descript for completion in Premiere. Frankly if there was a way to apply Descript edits to a multicam sequence in premiere that would be ideal!

Hi David (and any one else), It has been a year since this comment, I wonder if you or anyone else has managed to develop a better workflow for exporting XML into Premiere to edit a multi camera sequence?
Frankly I'd prefer to continue to edit in premiere and just use Descript as "step one" to chop up my sequence (after aligning multiple clips into a multicam sequence)
This seems to be the only place on line with a proper discussion about this topic...
Thanks!

This is a must have. On long form, docustyle stuff where Descript could really be a game changer, round tripping to Premiere or FCP is 100% necessary. I doubt that the final edit of any Sundance film will ever be done in Descript, but with a great round trip workflow, every new doc might use Descript as part of their workflow.

If this happens, I will delete Premiere

Double PLUS one to this! Would be such a game changer for doc editing!

Yes, I need this for cutting my screen capture video stream TOGETHER with my webcam stream, but still export both cut streams separately.
