New editing method sucks

I used to be able to go into my composition, select "Edit Composition" (or maybe it said "Edit Transcription") and edit like I would a Word document. Now, each time I need to make a correction, I have to click on "Correct," make the correction, then click the "Correct" button again. It's taking at least twice as long to edit my transcriptions. I used to love Descript because it was so easy. Why did you have to make it so hard now?

I am so frustrated with the editing! I have places where the transcription didn't work properly for some reason and I find it almost impossible to add the text for that part of wave form. It is slowing my workflow down so much. This needs to be fixed ASAP. I also echo what else is said here. It is not intuitive or user friendly in its current form.

After watching the tutorial, I
sort of
get where they're going with the new edit mode, but it's got some kinks to work out.For starters, it now requires replacing an entire word when all I need is to add a letter (e.g. right -> Wright in the demo video). This is ridiculous.
A multitrack interview I'm working on has multiple instances of ends of phrases getting cut off between speakers. I used to be able to just add them in and the transcription would update. Now I have to Edit, type it in, the following speaker's phrase gets brought up to the end of the first speaker's paragraph without a space – and you can't just add a space. So now I have to correct the text again and add a space to then be able to add a line break so that the following paragraph is assigned to the second speaker again. Waste of my time!

I agree - Its not intuitive and just takes too long to edit.

Same here too, it takes so much longer to edit text now

Using the "Q" and "W" to fix punctuation and capitalization helps, but it's pretty clunky overall.

Upvote!!! Huge Descript fan here, but the latest update - having to press E to correct sections, then having a pop-up for correcting text, is AWFUL!
It has slowed down our transcript cleanup process so that on a 20 min transcript, it used to take about 10 mins to jam through and clean up at 2x speed, now it takes us about 30 minutes.
We'd love to have it so that we could be in "transcript correction" only mode and go through the whole thing in one swoop (which is how I imagine many of your customers do things).

Same experience here, I can't understand why this change was made.
The number of clicks it now takes to backspace and remove double spaces or line breaks is baffling. Plus, sometimes when I press 'E' to correct a selection it instead replaces what I've selected and edits the composition, so then I have to undo and manually click the correct button with my mouse.
