If I dismiss "new version" notification, it should not come back repeatedly during my editing session

There are times when I may not be able or willing to update to the new version immediately, for example if I'm in the middle of a project and can't risk that the update might break something, so I choose to wait until I finish my editing session before updating. But currently (as of Tue Aug 24, 2021), if I close the "new version" notification, it pops back up in 5 or 10 minutes, and will keep doing this over and over until I update.
This is really distracting and introduces unnecessary stress, because I can't help but see and read the notice each time it reappears, then I have to stop mid-thought and click to close it again, while also worrying that I might carelessly click the wrong thing and trigger the update at the worst possible time.
So it seems to me, if a user dismisses the notification, you should not display it again for a while, either until the app is relaunched (my ideal preference) or once per day if you feel it's really, really necessary.
TL;DR - the new update notification is STILL too heavy handed and interferes with workflow for no good reason that I can see.

I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but please save the updates. Make them weekly, or something? It's crazy how often they come in. It happened more than once today, and the notification pop up will not stay away when you x it out. It seems like it's set to pop up every 37 seconds. I have two windows open and am doing very involved work and it's driving me nuts. I never leave feedback, please consider doing this - we joke about it in our team because it's so ridiculous. Thanks!

Glad I'm not alone here.
I complain about this all the time. Please stop updating 3 or 4 times in the span of a few days. It's extremely annoying, the notification blocks important work areas. And also just I'd rather deal with a minor bug for a week than have to coordinate versions again with my team whenever someone updates.

Huge plus one to this. This notification, even after being dismissed, keeps popping up. Believe it or not Descript product team, your users do not like having this notification get in our way while editing or distracting us by appearing in our peripheral vision while working elsewhere in the UI or on our OS. Completely interrupting our workflow to restart in order to get rid of your annoying notification is not an acceptable solution.
