Since the redesign, I can no longer resize the recording window to something smaller—it now takes up nearly half my screen, and I find that incredibly frustrating.
Even worse, the large, constantly moving audio waveform is super distracting while I'm recording. If I could shrink the window, it wouldn’t be such a big deal, but as it stands, I’m forced to keep this huge, animated UI front and center just to confirm that recording is happening. It makes it hard to focus.
I love Descript and usually agree with most of your UX changes, but I feel like these are a step backwards in usability. Please reconsider these UX decisions. There's no good reason to enforce such a strict minimum window size—and if that restriction is truly necessary, the interface needs to be rethought so it's less intrusive and more functional during live recording.
