My team needs to be able to edit transcripts without editing the video itself - our videos are considered final products when they reach the transcript editing team, and because we are not considered authors or content creators, we do NOT want to edit the video. Even one accidental edit to a video can create a lot of duplicative work. The current transcript editing functions in Descript are largely secondary to video editing, and the default editing function for the transcript makes parallel changes to the video, unless one intentionally clicks around to select "Remove from transcript" with transcript edit. This makes editing the transcript alone a clunky, difficult, and time-consuming process.

I would love to see a feature that allows me to set permissions for a video up front, in which selected users are only able to edit the transcript but cannot make changes to the video. Currently, permissions only extend to "Can edit" and "Can comment," but these are not useful to us.
