Pick Up Editing/Transcribing Where You Left Off

Jump to where you left off

Editing takes time and almost always requires multiple sessions to complete a project. It would make things easier and quicker, if, after closing and reopening Descript:
a) either Descript took you back to where you left off at the end of the last editing session
or
b) there was a hotkey or clickable button to take you back to where you left off
Thanks

This feature has been marked as shipped but works only intermittently, and apparently does not work at all after a Descript software update. Considering the pace of updates, this is no small problem. Should I re-open another issue on addressing the ongoing difficulties with this feature?

Gabe Michalski Well, it was nice while it lasted. Why has opening to where you left off been removed with a subsequent update?

Could add a marker to where you're stopping...

Steve Taylor: Plenty of us editors have to stop working on projects because we are interrupted by something else. I think the entire point of the feature request is to avoid the problem of having to remember to mark where you are or having to remember to do it when interrupted.
Many editors work like this by default now. I'm not sure why what is a fairly simple request (i.e. grab current timestamp of playhead and scrub to that spot on next startup) should take so long to consider from a software development perspective. Major quality of life improvement being left on the table!

Wow - that feature request came in 2019 and it's still not added in! The mind boggles that such as a simple request hasn't been implemented yet. It takes me at least 2-3 minutes to find out where I left off editing an interview when I go back into a project.

Stuart Lawn: It's a good idea, but it's not hard if you use markers or inline notes. How does anybody keep track of this stuff with Google Docs for example? I just put a little #todo tag in my documents. This way I can see all of my recent edits and not start a new one until I have all the todo's finished.

J D: All our streaming video services should totally pivot to this.

I add a new line where I'm going to stop editing for a time and add a MARKER.

This very basic request is still under review after all this time? Sheesh.
