Playback Speed: Remember setting, keyboard shortcut toggle
Matt Hayward
I think editing would be a lot nicer with these two features for playback speed:
- The app should remember the playback speed I had set for a project and restore it when I load the project.
- There should be a keyboard shortcut that engages modified playback speed. For example, in Audacity space plays at 1x, and shift-space plays at configured speed.

Shortcut for playing the audio or video faster while editing

For example, in FCPX if you press letter L the video plays x2 if you press L again plays x4, so you don’t loose your time watching or listening your file at a normal speed.

Came here to make the request for #2 specifically. I'm constantly tap tap tap tapping SHIFT+L then hitting SHIFT+K to return to normal speed for a moment, then tap tap tapping SHIFT+L again to get back to my 'fast listen' speed. Just make SHIFT+K a quick bounce between 1x to 'previous speed' (or whatever shortcut you want

I would also appreciate #2, would make correcting interviews a lot faster. It's tedious to have to switch back and forth between 3x speed (max speed I can follow along enough to notice when something's wrong) and 1x speed (for actually hearing what needs to be corrected) by holding down Shift-L or having to use the cursor. If I could immediately toggle between these two speeds with a shortcut, I'd correct a lot faster.
