When you put quotation marks at the beginning of a cut, it refuses to go in the proper place. At the cut mark, the quotation mark only goes on the left side of the cut instead of grouped with the word.

Like

He said, " (cut mark) [quote]."

It should be

He said, (cut mark) "[quote]"

This puts an awkward space when doing captions.

This also happens if you try to force a quotation mark when correcting the word.

The only workaround is to type the quotation mark in,

He said, " (cut mark) [quote]."

then type it again,

He said, " (cut mark) "[quote]."

then delete the first one.
