Currently, there is no reverse playback feature. That means I cannot reverse any clips, videos, or audio in the editor, which is a pretty basic feature that any entry-level editor has. I think if you don't even have these basic features, your editor is not going to make a lot of progress. I hope that the Descript team takes this up seriously and makes these changes.

I'm trying to film some "promotional" material for a Masters project, and part of the video involves a rewind effect. Please consider adding this functionality.

I wanted to create a video where I play the visuals forward, then play them in reverse. I create art and I thought it would look cool to show the process in both directions and speeded up - but this is a visual effect used in so many contexts and would be great to have it available on Descript also!

It would be very useful to have an option to reverse a video clip after it has been added.

Specifically, I’d like the ability to play a video scene from the end to the start, without needing to manually re-edit or re-import the clip.

This could be implemented as a simple “Reverse” toggle or action on the video clip, similar to other basic clip transformations. It would help with creative effects, transitions, and storytelling workflows.

I find it silly that such a powerful AI-based video editing program doesn't have an option to reverse a clip. I have to use iMovie to reverse a short clip and then upload it to Descript. Would love to see a feature (like in iMovie) where at the click of a button, you can reverse the clip.
