Set a range, then drag the volume that affects only that range.

I am having to adjust volume on a clip where the guest's mic picked up the host talking. So I'm reducing the guest's volume during the time the host is speaking. Each adjustment requires four keyframes. Option click, Option click, Option click, Option click. But it is frustrating because Option click often results in the volume CHANGING during the click. You can see it lowers. But it is also so many clicks.
Descript has a range tool, so I was trying to set the range then drag the volume hoping that only the range would be affected. It didn't work. So I am writing this request. Please a feature that uses the range tool to automatically create those four keyframes.
Related to this feature is the requirement that we should be able to manipulate the line between two keyframes in order to adjust both of those keyframes.
This is what I was trying to do: https://support.apple.com/guide/final-cut-pro/adjust-volume-verc1fabb77/mac#:~:text=Adjust%20volume%20automatically%20across%20a%20selected%20area&text=In%20Final%20Cut%20Pro%2C%20select,want%20to%20adjust%20the%20volume.
