Shorten word gaps is inaccurate

The shorten word gaps feature got bad after the update. Grays out parts that speaker was actually talking and includes those in the cuts which makes the whole thing useless. I can't use it to wipe all the word gaps like before. Can you please fix it?

Ideally there should be a way to shorten gaps of "silence" instead. Set a decibel level and only shorten sections where the decibel level is lower than the set value. I stopped using it since it doesn't consider laughter as words.

I agree. I just made a comment about it on a new feedback chain before I saw this post.

Could not agree more. This has become the most frustrating part of the software and sadly one that if fixed would save hours a week.
