Stand alone sequence editing
P
Paul van der Mey
Editing a sequence is about getting the track timing/sync right, and removing rejected sections that overlap wanted sections. It should also enable full track and segment level audio changes and correcting errors in speaker assignment.
Give sequences a full editing environment, not editing in a modal pop-up.
Include:
- auto-sync of tracks as in the requests for multi-cam syncing.
- option to lock or unlock sync for downstream tracks when creating space/separating overlapping speech
- assigning speakers where the transcript gets confused by cross-talk. Consider running the transcript along the top or bottom of the track and allowing it to be segmented and reassigned to another track where it takes on the new track's speaker label.
- per track volume editing with keyframes and ramping for example as in iMovie "Adjust audio over time with keyframes" https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/imovie/mov3b5ded23e/10.4.1/mac/26.2
- auto-ducking.
- mute silence in tracks.
