Studio Sound Request - PRO AUDIO USER
Brian Rund
Loving Studio Sound thus far. I have a couple of recommendations from a Pro Audio User.
- Batch Audio Process - please provide a batch audio process. Drag and drop a number of clips to be processed with the controls listed below...
- Noise Reduction Sensitivity Control - how much noise reduction will be processed to the audio region
- EQ / Compression / Volume Control - how much audio processing will be added to the audio region
- The Sensitivity and Volume Controls can be as simple as a user choosing to process the audio clips MAX / MEDIUM / SUBTLE
- Remove the need to transcribe if only using for audio processing.

YES! It takes forever to add each file and then turn on Sound Studio. I'd also like to be able to do it from the media library, not have to add to timeline. And yes yes yes to the no need to transcribe feature.

+1 to Studio Sound tools being available without making projects/comps!

Yes Please!!! If we could get a 'studio sound' stand-alone option to drag and drop files without having to transcribe and create a new project it would be extremely helpful!

Try to set ANY amount of Studio Sound filter filter below 100% – it causes a massive echo on the whole file – UNUSABLE!
Descript knows this since many weeks but they'r UNABLE to fix the bug.
This was the one feature we jumped onto Descript.
WHAT A DRAG – try it for yourself and
report that bug so they finally fix it.

Yes to all of this. Plus…
- Maintain input file sample rate (48khz)
- Maintain input file format (.wav/.aif)
- Maintain sync. (Currently studio adds some heads and tails to the processed clip)
+1 for batch process, and sensitivity controls!

I suspect you’re using “compression” in relation to the waveform; I’d like to see compression options in terms of output file-size, too: uploading a 580 MB file and getting back a 70 MB file feels a little… underwhelming. It’s clearly removing a lot of room noise (which is, no doubt, contributing to file size), but it’s still pretty crunchy. I’ve had to resort to mixing some of the original back in to hide the compression artefacts.

It would also be good to have this available as a plug-in (AAX, VST, AU) or even a standalone application

Great to see they're planning on this soon!

I would add spatial wideness. I would like to see us get a good quality mastering. Maybe it is not studio top quality, but a big improvement for YT videos and podcasts.

The 'subtle, medium and max' options for studio sound would make this perfect. I have recordings with background noise that get clipped too aggressively with the current studio sound, and all I need is for it to reign it in by 20-30%
