Switch back to Classic

TΞCH BACK CTRL
I've accidentally created a new project using the "new" Descript. Wasted transcription hours, and time setting up, only to find I'm in the "new version", which I still find completely unusable to edit audio. I know you can switch from classic to "new". But can you make and option to switch from "new" back to classic? Thanks.

We shipped Season 6 of Descript, which you can learn more about here:

Align new descript with classic

Hi, I keep trying to get to grips with the new version but you seem to have hidden all the features I'm used to and made it hugely clunky. Classic is intuitive and easy. I didn't need to watch a tutorial to get started with classic but I struggle to find even basic functions in the new version. The worst case of 'making something worse by trying to make it better' that I have ever seen

My request: PLEASE DON'T TAKE CLASSIC AWAY. This is horrible, horrible news. Sorry, but I really, really, really dislike the new thing for my audio-only projects. I'm afraid I'll have to find something else to use and I really don't want to.

Can I go back to old scripts?

All of a sudden the scripts are chopped up with speaker's names. Is there a way to go back to one clean continuous script (like it used to be?)

I don't understand why you got rid of classic, I just want it back. it worked fine. The current version is so laggy and I don't care about any of the new features. Like at all.

I have to agree. I've been doing this for years and most tools favor video or multitrack audio music creation. There are so few good 2 track dialogue audio editing tools. And with searchable text and a simple explorer like file list. Gamechanger. Classic was a rare pearl. The new interface may have more features but adds unneeded complexity and extra steps to accomplish the same tasks. I know it adds cost to maintain two project modes. But Classic IS what made me choose Descript. Don't kill off what made you stand out.

Big Same. I can't express how frustrating it is to be forced into giving up a piece of software I've grown to love, depend on and even advocate for in exchange for something that is much less functional and completely unintuitive. I am extremely disappointed in this move.
