Link Synced Media Together
It would be great if we could link two pieces of media together so that when we edit in the script it doesn't offset the overlay. I do a lot of screencaptures with my camera as an overlay on my screencapture. So I have 2 media layered on top of eachother, but I basically cannot use the script editor at all, because if I delete a section of the script it does not also remove the corresponding section of the screencapture. I would love if we could link two media so that removing a section from the script editor removes sections from all linked media.

Show "work in progress" message when replacing the transcript
When I start replacing an existing (automatic) transcript with the manual one, I expect to see some sort of message, stating that Descript is working on the task also showing the progress status. Right now it is just "nothing", leaving me in the dark about the success. (looking at V 54.1.1 on Mac)

ChatGPT Integration
It would be amazing to have ChatGPT integrated to highlight interesting passages and/or write show notes from a podcast interview. Example Prompt: Highlight 10 key points from this interview (descript would highlight those points and allow you to export them as separate videos).

Automatically edit out bad takes
There is an app called 'Gling' that uses a script editor like descrip. However they have an awesome feature that would save tones of time in the editing process. This feature automatically selects bad takes and cuts them out. You can then go into the script editor and check if these selections are good and add some back in or remove others. Would be an awesome addition to descript!

AI Summarize
Using AI to understand context of dialogues and with just one click summarize the video (using only words that were in the video or lip synced overdubs), it could start as a audio only feature to then expand into video

Search and find retakes to improve audiobook editing workflow
I'm using Descript til edit audiobooks. It's really helpful. I import a recording with all the error I made to edit them out. After each error I made I have a small pause which I can easily locate in Descript. One thing that would be really useful would be the ability to search for all the places where I read the same text up more than once (duplicates). This would make it so easy edit out retakes.

Write Mode
Instead of editing Overdub text in the normal edit mode, there will be a new dedicated "Write" mode for typing text to speech.

AI Summaries for Shownotes & Social Media Posts
There are several great tools out there that provide transcription summaries for episode briefs, social media copy (twitter threads, linkedin, facebook, IG), and quotes. I'd love to see this connected to transcriptions.

Overdub usage inserting images
If you use some other software to record then import that video into descript. Then try to overdub a single word descript inserts a black screen for the video. Which is not what I would expect. I would expect the same frame to appear in the video just with the overdubbed word change. As a work around to this issue ive tried to insert a freeze frame. However If you insert a freeze frame it seems like it grabs a random frame from earlier in the video rather than the last frame displayed before you inserted a freeze frame which makes overlaying a overdub change with a frame to match even more difficult Ive also attempted to edit the media by detaching it however it will insert the overdubbed media at the very beginning of the video and then as a user I need to go and find the .06 clip to change what I said. Both of those work arounds are not great I would really like to see overdub simply edit the audio and not edit the video.

Change speaker label on paragraph break
When you insert a paragraph break there is no way to change the speaker label on the Script as there had been in the old Descript. Conductor work around confusing.
