If there was a way to auto-mute hosts and guests when they aren't speaking, it would make the clarity of recordings much better and save a lot of editing time.

We've had tools to do this automatically for 15 years. Crazy that we have to do it manually in Descript.

eliminate the filename when copying the transcript of a video (it's not supposed to be included but always is when copying in plain text... this is a simple bug)

At the moment to dip an unwanted noise you have to click into the audio track for one speaker, put in four volume keyframes, and then dip the noise. Please make this a simple highlight and dip (with audio fade in/out), ideally from the timeline without dipping the main speaker or having to go into the audio track.

The chapter/marker list stays open until you click away or press Escape, so you can navigate and edit chapters without it closing unexpectedly.

Issue: No native transcription or Right-to-Left (RTL) alignment. Impact: Pasted text breaks; dynamic captions are unusable for the MENA market. Ask: Provide a definitive roadmap for Arabic support.
