For example, at the top of the screenshot, the duration is displaying as 1.0s, but on hover over, it shows the actual duration of 1.153 seconds. I'd be fine with rounding to nearest tenth of a second.

Hi Descript Team, Could you please bring back the one-click shortcut for splitting scenes in the timeline? What used to be a single action now requires multiple steps, which slows down editing and makes it easy to accidentally create extra splits when the tool isn’t switched back. An option to restore the original shortcut would make a big difference to workflow efficiency. Thanks, Nicholas

It would be great to be able to select all text layers or all b-roll layers at once and make quick edits to them (e.g., changing all text sizes or adding fades to all). Right now, it seems that each of them has to be edited individually, which is a huge time suck. And, Underlord can't do it because it needs you to be able to select all items in the timeline to do so, which is also a missing capability.

This would eliminate a ridiculous amount of very repetitive work!

I understand that Descript is "transcript-first" so when you record a new layer it goes to the top of the timeline (and even blends it in to the existing recording so it's not easily selectable to move to the end of the timeline). Given that the "transcript-first" concept isn't universally known or what the general population is accustomed to when using a recording/editing platform, it would be VERY helpful if this oddity ("oddity" for newbies like me) was clearly communicated - perhaps a one time pop-up when someone hits "+" and has the playhead set at the end of the timeline, saying something like "If you want your new recording to sit at the end of the timeline, make sure the cursor in the script is at the END of the script - yes, the part with all the words you have said, I repeat "the part with all the words you have said." This would have saved me several xanax, at least 38 gray hairs and 3 days thank u for ur service sincerely just a person trying to do just one thing without it turning into a headache xoxoxoxoxo

I often work on trains and in locations with poor connection. It would be great if there was a true capacity for offline editing like other video editing programs. Even if some AI features would not work until wifi is back. The ability to cut and adjust local files would be amasing.

When I'm doing precision cuts and someone edits text somewhere my selected item deselects and the timeline shifts leaving me in another part of the timeline sometimes 5 minutes from where I was editing. If that person is editing a lot the screen shakes violently with each edit they do making precision editing and timelines changes impossible. Collaboration is VERY broken. It only works if only one person is editing at a time otherwise it is unusable chaos.

ok I am creating videos for you tube and they say you have to do "something" every so often. I'm a beginner. In the videos I speak. I add B-Roll, change the layout for headings and listing things, and as I have to do something every 5-10 secs to keep the viewer engaged. But when I look at the timeline Descript doesn't help me to understand if I do that. I can see B-Roll, Photos, Text I added but I can't see when I changed layout, zoomed in, ... Is there a way that I can see that on the timeline? The answer was: You can’t see layout changes or zooms as specific markers on the timeline. Story time is not an answer, as it is not timed. Can you please make my life easy :-)

Currently, it's only possible to select one clip at a time in the Layer Lane. If you've gotten into a state where there are a huge number of clips in the Layer Lane that you need to remove, being able to select multiple clips at one time would help streamline removing them (instead of deleting them individually).

I'm moving more and more to using Descript as my main bulk editor, even over Logic. One thing that would be super helpful that Logic has and Descript doesn't seem to is the ability to copy and paste the volume keyframe parameters, similar to copy/pasting volume automation in Logic and other DAWS to quickly remove unwanted breaths, click, background noise, etc. It would also be helpful to have the ability to drag and adjust one or multiple volume keyframes at once.
